Hi, I’m haley!
about me
I’m a New York-based editor and writer with four-plus years of experience in lifestyle and commerce digital media. Most recently, I served as editor, B2B marketing at ROH, the first purpose-built revenue optimization platform for hospitality brands like Marriott, Hilton and The St. Regis. At ROH, I led the site’s editorial strategy and wrote copy for the website’s landing pages, marketing emails, social media posts and more. I worked closely with the CMO and marketing operations manager to create all of the brand’s B2B materials, from sales one-pagers to HubSpot sequence emails, leading to an increase of qualified leads and an all-time high email open rate benchmark.
While working at ROH, I also continued to work as an editor for its subsidiary brand Carats & Cake, the leading wedding platform with a highly engaged community of over 100M people. At Carats & Cake, I edited and wrote multiple articles weekly, from long-form, SEO-focused content to feature articles. I also worked with the property success team to ensure appropriate coverage of partner venues, and collaborated closely with the social media team to cross-promote content to the brand’s 780,000-plus followers.
Prior to ROH and Carats & Cake, I worked at What to Expect, the world’s best-known pregnancy and parenting brand, where I was the products and reviews editor. At What to Expect, I oversaw the creation and upkeep of the site’s best-of product roundups, where I published five to seven new or updated stories per week while simultaneously working on other projects and initiatives. I also managed a large pool of freelance writers to produce content for both What to Expect and its sister brand BabyCenter, and covered major shopping holidays like Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day to scale affiliate revenue up to 28 percent year-over-year. When I wasn’t assigning, editing or writing content, I routinely performed content and SEO audits to find keyword gaps and new opportunities for growth.
In addition to the above brands, I've worked for various media outlets including Coveteur, Care.com and Cincy Magazine, among others. I have experience in editing, writing, content strategy, e-commerce, copywriting, SEO, social media and email marketing, in addition to the health, lifestyle, tech, wedding and fashion industries.
I hold a bachelor's degree with a double major in English, Professional Writing and Political Science from Miami University, where I served as Editor-in-Chief of UP Magazine, the university’s only student-run fashion and lifestyle publication. During my time leading the magazine, I led UP to being named a national finalist for “Best Student Magazine” by the Society of Professional Journalists.

Recommendations
From jeannie kim, who managed me directly:
“Haley interned for me for six months and was a total superstar. I hired her as I was getting ready to launch a brand new company and website, and as you might expect at a startup, Haley had to wear many hats. She did everything from building out the legal resources section of the site to Wordpress production to photo research to writing stories about Alzheimer's care. Haley is bright, hardworking, nimble, conscientious, and eager to learn—and a great writer to boot. I'd hire her again in a second, and I can't recommend her highly enough.”
From Alexandra Bisonó, WHO WAS A SENIOR COWORKER AT WHAT TO EXPECT:
“On a daily basis Haley goes above and beyond her assigned job title, approaching every project and assignment with a smile, enthusiasm, can-do attitude and passion. She is directly responsible for creating a streamlined system for planning daily Instagram content which has improved interdepartmental workflow so that both editorial and design teams are maximizing time, effort and resources. Since Haley joined the editorial and social team there’s been a tremendous difference in both inter-departmental workflow and consequently the results we have gotten. She’s been key to WTE’s Instagram growing over 100K followers in eight months.
I personally consider Haley a spectacular collaborator with the design team. She is truly a team player who shares our creative vision and responsibly carries it out in her role, from her creative ideas to visually enhance editorial stories to her attention to detail in maintaining brand equity. Haley has excelled at working within the design systems in place while showcasing her dynamic and creative thinking which supports the design team’s vision towards a consistent brand experience for users.”
